When The Sun Shines We Shine Together = Your Reasons to Go Solar with Panda Exteriors. We power homes all across the Mid-Atlantic from Florida to Massachusetts.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), electricity prices have increased 2.36% per year in the United States for the past 25 years. As we go into the winter season, your home’s electricity costs will only rise given the weather and sunrise/sunset hours.
Solar is an extremely viable alternative to those homeowners who are having trouble keeping electricity costs down. More importantly, solar energy is an eco-friendly way to keep your costs low and help the environment (something everyone can get on board with).
Decreased Electricity Bills
While this is obvious, the impact is often underestimated. With a complete system, you can often enjoy $0/month bills. Solar panels can lead to lower or even zero monthly electricity bills, depending on how much electricity you generate, and the Panda team will advise you on the best area to place your solar panels to receive maximum energy conversion. The savings over 1 year, 5 years, and 10+ years are incomparable.
Initial Costs vs Long-Term Savings
You may be asking yourself, “…But isn’t it expensive to install solar equipment?”
Yes, there are upfront costs for solar panel installation but having an expert company install your panels means you will not need them replaced and only reap the benefits after the initial costs. We have been entrusted to put Tesla solar roofs across homes and businesses in the Mid-Atlantic and have many testimonials on our work and how much we have saved these individuals/companies. So yes, the initial cost to install solar panels can range dependent on the size of your home; however, these costs will all be recuperated over time. Furthermore, we offer all new clients a special deal: Send us your current energy bill and get $1500 off your solar project! Find out the cost to go solar on your house (Click Here).
Incentives and Tax Breaks
External of the benefit to your electricity bills, there are federal, state, and local solar incentives. Every state offers different incentives, for instance, in Maryland there is a $1000 one-time rebate available. However, combined with federal solar programs – you could potentially get solar installed on your home at no cost upfront while also reducing your monthly bills (*please note that solar programs are subject to change). The federal solar tax credit offers new solar owners in the United States a tax credit equal to 30% of costs they paid for their solar installation. Our team of experts will provide a free consultation that will guide you through all of the different ways you can utilize your solar panels to receive tax incentives and money back!

There is an unpredictability of traditional energy costs and also a dependency on local electric companies when your power does go out. Having your own solar energy can offer stability and protection against inflation.
The icing on top when installing solar is its ability to increase the resale value of a home. Many families and individuals are all switching to solar because of the great cost benefits and environmental friendly aspects; therefore, when you switch to solar you are not only doing the afore-mentioned but also increasing the value of your home. There’s nothing like tacking on more to your home’s sale price due to solar panels. A study by Zillow reported that homes with solar panels sell for 4.1% more, on average, than those without, and the increase in resale value is higher in certain cities, like New York. A 4.1% increase may not seem like a lot until you consider the size of the numbers involved — if you’re selling a $500,000 home, that’s an extra $20,500!
The expected lifespan of solar panels means less maintenance time and more energy efficiency. Solar panels have a typical life span of 25 to 30 years. The typical U.S. home changes hands every 13.2 years (according to a 2021 Redfin study), which is half the amount of time most Americans live in their homes. Therefore, you can expect many cost savings due to the long-term durability and minimal maintenance of solar panels.
We all want to try and save our environment as much as possible to make this planet livable and enjoyable for future generations… but did you know that going solar can result in environmental cost savings? If you are concerned with your carbon output, rest assured that by solar-powering your home you can reduce your carbon footprint. Residential solar panels emit around 41 grams of CO2 equivalent emissions per kilowatt-hour of electricity generated. Most of these lifecycle emissions are tied to the process of manufacturing panels and are offset by clean energy production within the first three years of operation. The lifetime emissions of rooftop solar are 12 times less than electricity generated by gas plants and 20 times less than electricity generated by coal. Furthermore, by protecting the earth, you are potentially saving in terms of environmental damages and health costs.
As you become more familiar with solar energy, you will hear a lot about Time-of-Use (TOU) rates. TOU rates are a dynamic electric rate schedule that adjusts prices based on the time of day and season, aiming to align with grid demands. With TOU plans, homeowners can be charged more when electricity demand is higher (since it’s more expensive to produce) and charged less when demand drops. But with solar energy you can have solar battery storage, which can help YOU save by using stored power during peak rate hours.
We understand that solar energy can be a larger investment for some families but don’t want you to feel the burden of that cost when considering an option that can ultimately protect your home and family. The most popular options for switching to solar are solar loans, leases, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Solar loans provide financing for solar panels and solar installations. Solar leases and power purchase agreements (PPA) are two payment options with minimal upfront costs. The main difference between a solar lease and PPA is that under a solar lease, you pay a fixed monthly rate, no matter how much energy is generated or consumed. A solar lease bypasses the upfront costs of solar panels and makes monthly lease payments instead to power their homes with solar energy. With a solar lease, the solar company owns the panels, but you use the electricity they generate to power your home. Solar leases lead to lower energy costs because you are creating your own electricity, separate from the grid. A solar PPA is another way to invest in solar without purchasing the panels upfront. Solar PPAs are similar to solar leases because the solar panel company retains ownership of the panels, even though they are installed on your property. The solar company is responsible for maintaining and repairing the solar panels. Both solar leases and PPAs have contracts that run between 15 – 20 years. There is potential for immediate savings with the right financing option,, and we can help you find the best one.
